Learning at Ericsson

  • Ericsson Academy is the "ultimate" learning tool for all Ericsson staff. You can find all sorts of training courses from Finance to Engineering. Ericsson culture promotes ongoing learning and the open sharing of knowledge and experience. On the Ericsson internal forum, an employee can post a question and wait to be answered by another employee who happens to know the answer.  One can also post a piece of tips about what he/she just learned or discovered to share with other people.

    • All employees receive the Ericsson newsletter, as well as getting information updates in regards to what is happening in the industry and other information related to the telecommunication industry. We also receive a letter from the CEO every fortnight to keep the staff involved in the higher level of the decision-making process.

    • A lot of learning is done through the problem-solving process. For example, when I started working at Ericsson, I don't know how the Purchase Order (PO) is created and how it is monitored. I read half dozen company documents but was still a bit confused. I requested a meeting with one of the co-workers from Finance Department, Sharon. It turns out she knows everything about PO and she explained it to me very well! Self-learning is the most satisfying part of learning to me, as when I take initiative to learn, I learn quicker and the knowledge stays with me for longer.
